Ooey, gooey cookie bars with two of my favorite ingredients in the whole world: chocolate and caramel!
INGREDIENTS
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup quick cooking oats
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup melted butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips
3/4 cup caramel ice cream topping
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease one 9x9 inch square pan. Combine flour, baking soda, oats, brown sugar, salt and melted butter. Mix to combine, mixture will be very crumbly. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Sprinkle the chocolate chips, nuts and caramel over the crust . Top with the remaining oatmeal mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Let bars cool before cutting.

I'm so glad you posted this. My aunt makes something just like this and I've been trying to get the recipe from her!
I just made this tonight and it is half gone. I had to use a springform pan due to lack of a 9x9available, and although it turned out cute since you could cut it into triangles, I wouldn't do it again because the caramel leaked out of the bottom and all over the oven. Seriously delicious though!
